As we approach the 200th anniversary of the publication of the Book of Mormon and the restoration of the gospel, it seems appropriate to relate the continuing story of Joseph Smith, and his amazing life, mission and legacy. This book begins with his childhood, and then summarizes his life and his achievements up to the martyrdom. It then goes into some detail about Joseph and Emma’s family and their descendants, including the one third that live in Australia.
This book also deals with the persecutions and falsehoods that Joseph and his family endured, as well as various topics that have been questioned or misunderstood by some people. I refer to the translation of the Book of Mormon, plural marriage, blacks and the priesthood, and Joseph’s attempt to become the president of the United States of America. This is truly a refreshing and exciting read.
